Family time ~
Mom and dad both are on a break right now.
The whole family is spending time together.
We are having a great time with Ariel.
We are thankful to the Lord for each moment that we share together.

First bath
Ariel had her first real bath 7 days ago.
She did not know what was going on and cried really loud when mom and grandma put her in the tub.
But as she found that the warm water actually felt pretty good, she calmed down and began to enjoy it a little..
still a bit doubtful about what is going on...
ah~ what a refreshing feeling.. to be clean.
Ariel was very content and feeling good after her first bath.

First Outgoing~
We, three of us, were going to Barnes and Noble in Colonie mall.
It was the first outing for Ariel. She was doing well in a stroller.
After walking in the mall, we had a lunch at an Italian restaurant nearby our house.

Things I learned from Ariel - Family

We were a good family before Ariel. We were very happy and good.
But now, we are a real family with Ariel, becoming a great family.
We are happier and great by Ariel.
We can feel warmer love for each other because of Ariel.
Ariel makes our family complete.
Now, We can not imagine our family without Ariel.
Though she was just born, she has come to bring the meaning of family to us.
We are family. We are not you and I, nor Michelle and Michael.
We are now us, Michael, Michelle and Ariel. All in one never broken.

Special day
Today Ariel's umbellical cord came off.
I guess that means she is growing up already.
Michael and I have mixed feelings about it.
While we want her to grow up so that we can do more things with her every moment with Ariel is so precious right now that we don't want it to go away.
Regardless, she will and must grow up according to the way God made us.
We have to remember that she is God's gift which he has entrusted to us for a given time and that she is not our possession.
Some day she will learn to fly on her own for God's glory.
We have this day to enjoy her and each other..
And we are very thankful for it.

Things I learned from Ariel - Michael
By Ariel, I have learned about myself.
Ariel has me. I can know that by seeing her. Ariel has even the parts of me which I did not know I had before.
Though I have lived with my body for all my life, I might not recognize all the parts of my body. I, now, know it. Since Ariel came from my body, it is natural that she resembles me. The things others are saying about resemblances between her and me should not be untrue.
Because even I can see me in her. It is amazing that I did not know myself until seeing her.
This makes me not only amazed but also fearful. She already looks like me. And she will see what I am. I will be able to learn about myself by seeing her, but finding me in her may not be what I really want for her because I am not perfect nor what I want to be in some aspects.
Learning about myself through Ariel will guide me to the right path which I want to show Ariel as a father by seeing myself, recognizing myself and correcting myself. As Ariel looks like me anyhow, I want to be a father who gives a great inheritance to my daughter.
Ariel already looks like me. And I am already changed by her.
